      A bridge is harder to destroy than the targets Ukraine's drones are currently being used against. All those targets have either fuel or munitions or both. A drone with a small shaped charge can easily destroy an aircraft by striking where the wings meet the fuselage. There's usually a fuel tank at that location. As for fuel or munitions depots, those are even easier to destroy with a small amount of explosives.

    Thank you General Hodges! I agree with your view of this war. I have two comments to offer. Firstly, I had the notion and mentioned it in an article on Mar 6th, 2022, that Ukraine would ultimately win its struggle with Russia. My timing was off; I had them winning within the same year. Two reasons for my notion they would win; the defender of an attack on their homeland by a larger Imperialist power has, based on "historical recurrence," overcome its invaders through the existential drive and determination to protect their homeland; and, the inability of Russia to take Kiev in the first two weeks of the invasion demonstrated its inability to fight a modern war. Lastly, the reason my timing was off is that I expected the West to support Ukraine to win. This has not happened. I am not of the opinion the west is dragging their feet because they are fearful of Russia using tactical nukes. No, like you I believe it's a no win scenario for Russia if they do. What I do believe this war demonstrates, almost from the beginning, is a war of attrition which fits with the West's M.O. otherwise Ukraine would be given all the military might the West has to offer and the green light to take the war to Russia and win. They are taking the war inside Russia with the use of their drones and are very successful taking out Russia's industrial military complex, their ammunition depots and energy infrastructure which is very impressive. However, so far, no green light from the West except for GB. Therefore, the West (especially the US), their reluctance to push for an early victory may be more of a desire to wage a war of attrition against Russia. Finish Russia once and for all. It makes sense. Once devoid of its military power plus the demographic decline and battered economy resulting from the loss of the conflict will make it impossible for Russia to threaten the security of NATO and Europe in the future.

      @oldernu1250 Месяц назад

      Agree. Western analysts bought the Russian behemoth myth. Intelligence agencies had almost no human assets, so disbelieved reports of endemic corruption and incompetence. And they still fear Putin's nuclear threats. The experts were wrong, but won't admit it. I remember watching a Spetsnaz training film in 1980's. It was supposed to demonstrate great training, but was just hazing with no skill transmission. Ukrainians were always better soldiers than Russians and more independent and adaptable.

      I don't think so. The Kerch bridge is heavily defended.
      Russia is spending a huge amount of resources on keeping the bridge protected that Ukraine is better off letting the Russia forces, air defence et.c. be stuck there like forever.
      Currently, Russia is building a permanent barrier (with pylons in the seabed). That is extremely expensive, which is good, because those money can't be spend elsewhere.

    How can a cardboard droine that carries a load of 6 lbs. destroy a jet aircraft? Don't bombs and explosives weigh more than that?

    • @AM-fs1je

      It’s called ,, lift ,, drag ,, thrust
      Make your wings strong enough to hold 10 lbs , make your thrust strong enough to pull 10 lbs
      This is just a figure of speech, remember that you have also your radio gear and battery,, has to be taken in account

    • @dwgale01
      @dwgale01 Месяц назад

      A fighter jet is basically fuel and munitions covered in aluminum. If you hit it in the right spot, usually the wing root, that jet is going to start burning. A lot. If it's loaded with bombs there's very likely going to be a catastrophic explosion. And that's going to severely damage or destroy anything close by. You could destroy an aircraft with a shaped charge that weighs less than a pound if you hit it in the right place.
